Programme Structure

The first semester lays a robust foundation in computer science and engineering with a focus on core concepts and skills. Students start with Mathematics for Computer Science, which equips them with essential mathematical tools for problem-solving. Engineering Physics provides scientific principles critical for understanding technological systems. Introduction to Computer Science and Engineering offers a broad overview of the field, while Basics of Cyber Security introduces fundamental concepts in protecting digital information. Programming Fundamentals cover the basics of coding, and Communication Skills are emphasized to enhance effective technical communication.

In the second semester, students delve deeper into computational and security principles. Data Structures and Algorithms are studied to develop efficient problem-solving skills. Digital Logic Design introduces the foundational principles of electronic circuits, while Computer Organization covers the architecture of computing systems. Network Security Basics expands on initial cyber security concepts, providing a foundation in protecting networked environments. Engineering Mathematics II builds on mathematical concepts, and Environmental Science offers insights into the impact of technology on the environment.

The third semester focuses on system-level understanding and practical application. Operating Systems explores the fundamental software that manages hardware resources. Database Management Systems provides knowledge on data storage and retrieval. Cryptography and Network Security covers advanced topics in securing communications and data. Software Engineering introduces methodologies for developing robust software solutions. Probability and Statistics are applied to data analysis and decision-making, while Technical English enhances students’ ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.

In the fourth semester, students focus on specialized areas of computer science and security. Web Technologies covers the development and security of web applications. Wireless Communication examines the principles of wireless technologies and their security implications. Ethical Hacking provides hands-on experience in testing and securing systems. Information Security Management covers strategies for managing and protecting information assets. Computer Networks deepens understanding of networking principles and security. Students also choose their first Elective, allowing for exploration of specialized topics.

The fifth semester emphasizes advanced security topics and practical experience. Cyber Forensics explores techniques for investigating and analyzing cyber crimes. Cloud Security addresses security challenges and solutions in cloud computing environments. Advanced Network Security covers sophisticated techniques for protecting network infrastructure. Malware Analysis provides skills for detecting and analyzing malicious software. Students select their second Elective and an Open Elective I, broadening their academic perspective.

The sixth semester continues with specialized security courses and project work. Internet of Things (IoT) Security examines security issues related to connected devices. Penetration Testing teaches methods for evaluating system vulnerabilities. Security Policies and Compliance focuses on creating and enforcing security policies. Students select their third Elective and an Open Elective II. A Minor Project allows students to apply their knowledge to a practical challenge, integrating learning from previous semesters.

In the seventh semester, students tackle emerging security technologies and major projects. Mobile Security explores the unique security challenges of mobile devices and applications. Secure Software Development focuses on creating software with built-in security features. Security in Emerging Technologies addresses security issues in cutting-edge technological fields. Students work on their Major Project Part I, and select their fourth Elective and an Open Elective III, further specializing in their areas of interest.

The final semester culminates with advanced topics and practical industry experience. Major Project Part II involves completing and presenting a significant project, integrating comprehensive learning throughout the program. Professional Ethics and Cyber Law covers legal and ethical aspects of cyber security. Security Operations Center (SOC) Management prepares students for roles in managing and operating security monitoring centers. Students select their fifth Elective and an Open Elective IV, and complete an Industry Internship to gain real-world experience and professional exposure.
